Lets hear what you think the best program for OS X... reason being...
I like cool programs, and i wanna see what else is out there.
My favorite is probably Adium. If you didn't already know.. it's a third-party AIM client. All Cocoa and very custimizable... good with the resources too, i wish more programs would be as simple and fetureful as this one.
if you wanna try it out you can find it at versiontracker.com
i'm sure most of you already know about it though.
p.s. Don't post to bash other peoples choice in software. Example "Ben i think adium sucks because you can't send pictures to people"
my response to you. Eat me. I don't care.

I get pretty excited about the newest version of Transmit from Panic. As far as FTP goes, I can't imagine it gets much better.
Kung-tunes is a very cool, piece of "useless-ware" which I gladly donated for. Display current iTunes tracks on your website.
BBedit Lite rocks for me since I wouldnt have a clue where to start with some of the features that are available in the full version. Edit ANY document.

SaverLab is really cool. It's that program that lets you run all your screensavers in little windows (or medium or large ones). It also lets you run the screensavers as a desktop picture now, or as a transparent layer over the entire screen. And now can even record screensavers as quicktime movies (you could use them in iDVD or something as menu backgrounds or even as features to use up all the blank space that you didn't actually film footage for. And it has the hallmark of any truly great program for OSX, it's FREE (and don't tell me Photoshop is free too; if you go to the store you will find that most people actually are paying money for it!)

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Big fan of Transmit.
LOVE Audio Hijack. It's great for recording streams of internet radio stations for listening later.
The searchling menu bar tool is excellent.
And this time of year, I'm enjoying Xmas lights.

Ben I think Adium is a piece of donkey doo that can't do anything. It is worthless. And UGLY!
My favorite program for OS X is Photoshop because it is free.
Also I really like vlc, it's probably my true fav. Could be better though.
EAT ME!

Hmmm. . . there are so many!
I will take the easy route and say the Finder is the best application.
Other favorites include OmniWeb+Navigator, Mail, iTunes, iPhoto, Watson, Sherlock, LaunchBar, Photoshop, Word, and OmniGraffle.

Have you tried Path Finder?
I wouldn't touch any replacements for system essential apps until I tried this one. Purchased it right away and have been using it for about 2 months now. VERY pleased. It's hard to explain all the stuff it does differently from the finder, so I will just recommend you try it yourself. Oh and it's definitely SNAPPIER than the finder!!

I would have to say Adium.
But runners up are Cocoa Browser, PTHCPUMonitor and Net Monitor.

I like and use Snard everytime I power on my computer. Since I'm not too fond of the dock, I have minimized and deleted most applications from the dock to make my desktop look clean. I use Snard as a contextual menu (it's like the start button in Windows). One click and I have all my applications listed. For me, Snard has been the most useful for my style of computer use. I also like Watson alot. Been using it on a regular basis to check weather, news, etc.

OmniGraflle, Mellel, Mail and iCal are really great.
Mellel is in beginner fase but it looks like it is going to be better than MS Word

I downloaded PathFinder and am using it as my replacement Finder. It's very good. Thanks for the tip.
