I noticed that Pinnacle has DVD copying software. Is anything like this available on the Mac?

would this be copying video dvd or data dvd? because i would assume that what tool you would require depends on what job you want done.
if you want to rip a video dvd mencoder and forty-two are two apps that can do this (though neither compares to transcode but i have not figured out how to port this to OS X yet).
as for copying data dvds i am not sure because honest ly i have never usede a data dvd before.

ever heared of copy protection??
no, sir, not THAT easy:
a few sites describe a how to; main steps: Use OsEX to "crack" the copy protection, use ffmpeg to calculate the data stream of a commercial, double sided dvd down to fit on a dvd-r; forget about menus or buy a prg like dvd pro for 1 m$
easy ;-)))
