Apple gave us smart playlists for iTunes - I wonder if the idea could be applied to Safari - 'smart bookmarks' ? For example - you could have '25 most visited sites', 'sites visited today'...

But would it be possible to go one step further and use a user's ratings of sites to suggest sites of further interest? ( perhaps like Amazon.com does when you rate a CD you own)... so after highly rating MacNN, a range of similar sites is generated, such as Apple.com, MacWorld, ThinkSecret...

Anyway, the idea just came to me. Any thoughts?

i have been thinking about this, it's a great idea. actually, recently i've been thinking about how the whole os should be searchable in ways like this. i'm sure metadata proponents would say that this is what they're talking about. that arstechnica article is just what i'm looking for. re-do the finder apple, and save yourself the trouble of having to re-do every other app...
