Look at this, it has been driving me crazy lately. Look at the dates in my history. Notice one out of whack? July 17th has been in there since... you guessed it July 17th, and it won't go away! Its the strangest thing. Any ideas what's up with it?

Here's a wild guess. Something got corrupted in a cache file that is recorded in that history - maybe it's locked and it's also future-dated. Look in the Safari caches in your home library. Try trashing the individual cache files.

You know what's really odd? I don't have that problem with Safari, yet everytime I open IE (for web development), July 17th is always in the History too! (Even though I've tried deleting it, it still comes back).

Also this sepia tone of your menu entries reminds me of historical photography, maybe your problem is more severe than you think.

July 17th wasn't friday this year. Maybe your clock was set to the future at some point when you were surfing. Doesn't it go away if you clear the history?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

No, but July 17 was a Friday in 1970.
Check for battery problems and/or zap your PRAM.

May I suggest you go to the bookmark view, select the history element on the left, select July 17 then hit backspace?
