I received a copy of Final Cut Pro 3.0 Academic from my school. Recently, FC Express was offered to teachers for $49. Is there enough added functionality to purchase FCExpress or should I save my money and stick with FCP3?

Thanks

I believe FCE is based upon FCP 3 and not FCP 4.

final cut express is based of fcp 3.0

Pro 3.0 has a couple features that FCE does not have.

Keep FCP 3.0

I saw this $49 deal mentioned on MacNN, but can find no sign of it on Apple's education site. I called, and the person I spoke to knew nothing about this deal.

How do I find the $49 deal?

Stick with FCP 3. Just for the ability to do batch captures and plenty more.
