Assuming the next installment is coming soon, I'm opening this post to hear what you guys want.
As for me, They're all great. Changed everything. But there are a few things that I'd like to see:

iPhoto faster. Please, it's a pain when viewing photos and it takes 10 seconds to rotate it to the left.

Bookmarks in the iTMS. If I see something interesting that I want to go back to, it would be nice to have. [One way to do this manually is to have an open word document and just drag the song/album link from the Music Store. But, it would be easier if it was built-in, right? ]

Return of the labels. Panther has it, what about iTunes songs, or iPhoto Libraries? Going thru the huge collections would be easier if U2 had a green hue.

Progress Bars in the Dock. Just like Photoshop when you're applying a major filter, the progess bar is added on top of the icon in the dock. So, ripping tunes or importing photos could just be a glance away while surfing the web. [ Or, heh heh, F9 in Panther ]

iTunes to recognize other devices. Like the Rio, or the Dell DJ — well, scratch that. I guess I wouldn't buy an iPod for Stevie if I could transfer songs to my MiniDisc.

Able to cut sequences in iMovie, like Final Cut.
More custimizations in iDVD, like DVD Studio.
Hmm. Well,
If it's free, then I'm not complaining.

One thing I would like to see NOT CHANGE is the no-subscriptions in the iTMS. Navigating Napster is such a pain: "Become a Premium Member now!" Makes you feel like a total loser. Plus the fact of renting songs is a laughable matter.

Right?

What about you?

A second on bookmarks for the iTMS. Several times I've looked at songs and not quite decided on DLing 'em. Would be nice to bookmark 'em. Also, a shopping cart might be nice. Have mixed emotions on this one, but at times I'd like to mark 6 songs or so an just purchase and DL them at one time.

Labels in iTunes would be brilliant... and perhaps a directory that would show from your root library which playlists a particular song was included in.

Increased responsiveness in iPhoto would be handy... and perhaps nested libraries. Give me the abilitiy to "tag" photos with user defined keywords for smart searching and smart libraries.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

I'd like to be able to set bookmarks within iTunes tracks and playlists. This would be very useful for audiobooks I've imported into iTunes.

Go to iTunes' prefs and under the Store pane select "Buy using Shopping Cart."

I agree completely on the progress bars thing. That would be very nice, especially in iTunes.

iTunes does support other devices, but it's up to the company that makes the device to write the drivers for it. This is not Apple's problem.

You can already assign photos to keywords in iPhoto - it's slow like the rest of the application but it does work.

Go to the "Edit" menu and then "Keywords" a floating window will come up that lets you assign keywords to photos and search for photos by keyword.

NO not completely. Other companies CAN write iTunes drivers but their devices still will be incompatible with songs purchased from the iTunes store. Apple has yet to license the FairPlay technology to anyone else who wants to make compatible devices (software shouldn't be an issue since QuickTime takes care of that).

Ah yes, also for the iTMS -- the ability to UPGRADE to an album! If I (stupidly) purchase 4 tracks from the same album, I don't want to pay again for something I already have.

iPhoto to preview the camera contents before downloading and allow for selected downloads instead of all or nothing.

iTunes: Bookmarking of songs. The shopping cart in iTunes now only allows you to not buy songs instantly, not purchase some of the songs in your cart (i.e. the cart is still all or nothing). I second the upgrade album idea, as well as nested playlists.

iMovie: two video tracks

iDVD: it's perfect for me.

Image Capture in 10.3 (I'm not sure in Jaguar) can allow you to select "some" images instead of downloading forcefully all from your camera. But it's not iPhoto.

It would be nice for iPhoto to download movies from your camera instead of manually doing that.

Talking about Image Capture, built-in support for almost any existing scanner and camera, also through open source solutions à la Gimp-Print (see its equivalent SANE on the scanning front), wouldn't be a bad idea.

On the iLife front, maybe some form of "starting point" interface - maybe also to be used in a standard, system-wide way even for other apps - like in AppleWorks could be good for beginners to better manage the workflow.

YUP Image Capture in 10.3 works the same way. I used it a couple of times. What I iPhoto needs a new way of doing photos. I hate the way it puts the photos in all those different files.

iPhoto faster. Much faster.

iTunes labels. iTMS bookmarks. iTMS mechanism for "returns" or accidental purchase of two copies of an album or song.

Apple needs to buy iCalviewer and make it a part of iCal.

I want to see something like that "iBrary" app that was floating around for a while. Something that we can use to organize and search PDFs, Word Processing files, and other text files. In essence, I'd like to see an iPhoto for organizing writing. I have hundreds of documents I've produced on my computer, and I would sure like to be able to organize them better. Now that Text Edit works with Word documents, it's be nice to be able to do basic editing within the organizer itself, much like iPhoto.

Cheers
Scott

I think Apple will address the issues of speed with the next release.

Although, closing all of ones rolls in the library goes a long way to increasing speed. I have about 10,000 images and don't find it to be all that slow. Than again I'm not useually switching back and forth between albums or organize or books. So, once the thumbnails are cached, it performs very well. I actually like iPhoto better than iView for many things and have recently switched from iView to iPhoto.

However, iPhoto needs much better ways of searching. One should be able to search not only by keyword but also by title, comments, any of the EXIF fields. Also, it should fully support entering IPTC fields as well as searching by these fields.

iPhoto allowing "burning" library data to a .dmg, that, when mounted automatically launches iPhoto and appears in iPhoto as a library.

In other words...
I want to be able to make a disk image archive in iPhoto that is stored on my hard drive but is not part of my every-day iPhoto library and that behaves just like a CD/DVD archive burnt in iPhoto. I have too many photos that usually just sit in iPhoto, bogging down everything, but that I also want to have handy when I may not happen to have an archive CD accessible at the time.

How about templates for iTunes and iDVD to make CD and DVD labels using cover art, track listing, listing of movies, etc.

This would make my life a lot easier!

iMovie and iDVD - widescreen (16:9) support would be very welcome. iMovie also could do with a performance improvement - it's getting quite sluggish on older G4s now.

iPhoto - the ability to 'print-crop' a picture, drag a 6x4 crop area over the image that only affects the print so you don't have to lose the original image aspect.

iTunes - a UK version of the store is all we want!

Nested libraries in iPhoto, and a graphical overhaul (damn it's ugly around the traffic lights).
Speedup for iPhoto.
Some quicker way of showing the track that's playing for iTunes.
System-wide control for iTunes: exactly like Another Launcher, but without me having to run that as well as LaunchBar. Key combos to show track, play, stop, next/prev.

I still need more options in the smart playlists. I hate to get too geeky, but something similar to a GUI version of SQL or Boolean would work. I want more metadata captured in ID3 tags. Maybe a few extra "User Defined" fields to set sub-genres, etc.

iTunes and iPod have made me fanatic about music. I need more options!

Well, according to this, we should expect a new iApp.
Hmm, iWorks?

Audion 3 has a way to show the track time over the icon in the dock; it should be easy for iTunes. What about skins?

I agree with the 'print-crop' feature for iPhoto.
Widescreen support, very yes.
