Anyone have any new information on when a new Safari version will be out? I love it but it's time for an update, they need to keep em coming with Safari and not let it stagnate.

I would ask again after MWSF... There are usually announcements and updates then.

Hyatt just updated his Safari Blog with detailed changes to the rendering engine. I'd expect an update at MWSF.

I'm hoping we get some new features, in addition to the speed increases.
But I would also say around MWSF, maybe a bit after.

As we are on the Safari topic, has anyone here had problems with Safari v100.1 (Panther version) loading pages here at Macnn? 99% of the time the page never loads completly and I have to press the stop refresh to see the page. Anyone?
I tried emtying the cache but it does not help...

Under the "Window" menu in Safari, look at "Activity" and post back what parts of the pages aren't loading all the way...
Thanks.

I had to use Mozilla to post this, actually Mozilla had trouble too but eventually loaded. Gorickey, I have to say its only Macnn that does that for me.

I would expect that since Safari and WebCore are separate, that new features added to WebCore (in the rendering department) are automatically picked up in Safari.

It's stalling loading the ad on the page, if you hit stop the page should render just fine. That's most likely a problem with the ad server, not Safari or MacNN.

Not let it stagnate? It's only been three months. Even Mozilla's release schedule -and it releases more often than anyone else- is twice that long. Safari has far fewer developers than that, and although there is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to number of developers, Safari is nowhere near that point.
Good software takes time. Please understand this. Even once the software is supposedly finished in terms of coding, there is testing to be done, and frankly Apple hasn't been doing enough of that lately. If Safari is delayed to work out more bugs, that's a good thing.

Thanks Proton, thats exactly what I do. I just press stop and the page appears. The big problem is that I can't very well post here because none of the "Post" links appear when I stop the refresh cycle. Am I the only one with this ? I don't see anyone complaining about it.
