I hate these threads but here you are..

"The image appears to show iTunes prominently showing off a new section, a Mixing Table targeted at DJs and DJ wannabes. You can select two songs to play at the same time, and use the equaliser to, say, use the bass beat from one and the lyrics from the other (if you are skilled enough). In a technique borrowed from Soundtrack, iTunes seems to be able to adjust the pitch and playback speed. You can either type the speed or pitch in, use the sliders, or--and this is a bit of speculation here--use the tap button (which is blank) if you're bad with numbers."

It looks plausible (well more than that iBrary app a long time ago) but the display at the top and iTMS icon have different colourings to the curretn program.

Not that I disagree but what makes you so sure?

I hope they do change the yellow info window to blue though. Looks much better.

Well, 141 beats per second is absurd. 141 beats per minute would be much closer.

It's supposed to be a mixer but how do you mix two songs when there isn't a slider that lets you change the balance between song 1 and song 2 ? Or do you have to let iTunes control the fade-in and out of each song ? Seams pretty useless and fake to me. If Apple decides to add a mixer I hope they make a better one...

Reasons why the screenshot is probably fake:

1) Apple doesn't allow any of their apps to be bigger than 800x600.

2) The BPS/BPM slip.

3) The record button wouldn't be circular, it would be one of those rectangular toggle buttons like those to the right of it.

I just discussed this with a friend who works for Apple, and he said that Apple programmers are not allowed to make an app that won't be fully functional on an 800x600 display. He used the Panther Server apps as an example, they all run on 800x600 displays. (obviously FCP, Soundtrack, etc. are exceptions).

Their apps?

natan, iMovie is not functional at 800x600.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Hit the nail on the head. Check out the enlarged photo and look at the supposed "record" button. There's no way that could get through Apple Design...

All glory to the hypnotoad.

i don't think Apple would turn a consumer mp3 player into a DJ mixer. that sounds like a Soundtrack stuff.

That is exactly why Apple got rid of most all of them in 10.3

so you must be saying there is something wrong with green because apple got rid of it when they transitioned their hardware to whites and grays?

What about the scrollbar interfering with the header of the NSTableView? Hm...
