I realize this is probably not the right place to post this question, but I am in dire need of help. I have an old Performa 430 and I connect to the internet using the Claris Works communication program. I was wondering if anybody knew how to download off of the internet. I don't have an ISP. I just dial up my college's account and use that to get onto the internet. (so no graphical viewer, just text) When I try to download something, I am given options:

Save to disk
Use Xmodem to download text file
Use Xmodem to download binary file
Use Zmodem to download text file
Use Zmodem to download binary file
Use Kermit to download...

I don't know how to download. Can anyone help?

I apologize if this is out of place.

The claris works package has support for the xmodem download, the other methods (kermit, zmodem, etc) are also avaiable with 3rd party transfer tools (i'm not really upto date on the what is included with the newest versions of Claris Works because i use Word and have an ISP)...anyway..the save to disk option is saving the file to the host computer (if i recall correctly)...

oh one more thing: choose binary if the thing that you are downloading is an application or contains resource forks, choose text if it's a text document and/or it's HQX'ed
Choose xmodem and the download will be incredibly SLOW...choose Zmodem and you should be happy (that is if the transfer of Zmodem is supported in your version of Clarisworks)
