Did a search on this, and it seems like most G5 sleep related issues are narcoleptic, as in the computer won't wake up. Mine is the opposite, my G5 is suffering from insomnia. I put it to sleep and after a few minutes, it wakes up, every time.

Seems like this problem started after I repaiered permissions, oddly enough.

Any suggestions?

Despite the number of people that recommend repairing permissions, Apple says you should only repair permissions when you have a known permissions problem.

Either way, it's not likely this caused your problem.

The first step with power related issues is to reset the PMU.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3

Yah, I'm sure repairing permissions was not the cause of my G5's insomnia, but the perrmission repair seemed to cure my Neverwinter Nights issues.

Alrighty then, I'll give the old pmu a shot!

Thx!

What model Mac is experiencing insomnia? If you're lucky like me (and others who own a SP 1.8 G5), your problem may be related to some as of yet undiagnosed part of the 10.3.5 update. See the knowledge base article #25810.
