Well....I'm typing this on my year old Powerbook 15" 1.25 still, but yesterday took the plunge and got a Powermac 2ghz Rev B. Actually I haven't even opened it yet!!!! Mainly because I've been busy running around doing a few errands & fixing a friends PC, etc...

Anyway, I can't wait to crack that box open and set it all up. I was able to get a special Educational price of $1999 for it. Since Apple stuff is never "on-sale" it was tough to pass up such a great price for a G5...so I went for it. My only concern is how useful my Powerbook will be afer I setup the new G5. I'm debating selling the PB, although I'd hate to get rid of it. You know...I'm trying to build my Apple "collection" up (haha....)

The G5 is stock. I wish I could've upgraded the video card at least, but the deal was for in-stock boxed G5s. Maybe I can sell this stock Nvidia for a few bucks...then upgrade to something a little better.

Anyway, just wanted to share my excitement of finally entering the G5 club.

Enjoy! and you got a great price. $1999 is very good.

As for the video card yeah upgrade it if you can. even the 9600 pro is better IMHO.
