So I have been trying lately to pump some life into my 933 Quicksilver Tower. I upgraded the graphics card from a Geforce 4 MX to a 4Ti, and put in a 7200 RPM 8 meg cache drive. I'm hoping to get another 2 years of life out of this baby, and am wondering what else I can upgrade, other than sticking in another 512 of ram. Can this model be overclocked? Is it worth sticking in a processor upgrade card to jump to a 1.2 or 1.4? Basically, I want to pimp my quicksilver, and any performance upgrades you can suggest would be great. ATA 133? Could I sell my 933 processor if I bought an upgrade? Thanks

Processor upgrades and RAM. you maximize the ram and throw one of those upgrades in there and thats about all you can do.

It seems so weak to pay $350-400 for around a 500 mhz jump. Is there any speculation that faster G4s are in the works? If I did buy an upgrade, is there a market for my old 933?

Better video card, possibly faster CPU or dual CPUs, some more ram.
I don't see the point to upgrading it though. It might make more sense to get a new G5 and sell the G4 instead of sinking money into upgrades.

I've got the fastest card that can power an ADC and a DVI monitor. If I invested the $400 now to last me 2 more years (so I can get my dual 4 ghz ), I could still probably recoup $100 -$200 if I sold the upgraded card and stuck the 933 back in. Is it likely that within a few months new G4 upgrade cards (1.6+?) could come out?

That doesn't make it a very good video card. Put it this way: It won't be supported by CoreImage (current litmus test for a video card). It's something like 4 or 5 generations old, if I remember right.
It's possible new upgrade cards could come out. I don't know.
