Hi guys-

Recently I have started working in a place using DP 2.5 G5's.

They seem to run a LOT quieter than my DP 2.0 at home

I've been reading about all these squeaks and chirps- and I seem to get these occasionally when I use Expose or resize windows, as well as my machine randomly firing up fifty to the dozen for apparently no reason at all....

Am I just being paranoid? Or should I have it looked at? It seems that it's the general 'hum' or 'whir' of the machine that is louder, not the processor noise, as such...

Finally, I got my machine in May 2004. Is there a way of checking if it's Rev. A or Rev. B? What are the differences? Does this matter?

I appreciate all your help....

Yes! Thanks for the link!

I have decided to download the new CHUD tools, and disable 'napping'.

I just downloaded the .pkg, and it's asking me to uninstall all the previous versions of CHUD tools with the CHUD REMOVER.

I am very scared to do this. Has anyone else done it? is it safe?

Installing it wont do any harm. If you did not install earlier versions of CHUD before go ahead and install it as you do not have anything to uninstall.

Just be careful when fiddling around with options. disabling NAP is fine but take care with others. It is safe if you do it wisely
