My PB came in today and I love it already. It replaced my iBook and it is SO much better. Anyway, a couple of quick questions:

1. How do you do target mode. I would like to connect to my iBook and get some of the files off. Before I wipe the HD.

2. Can I connect to my PC's hard drive and how can I get it on the network. (Never tried with my iBook)

3. The iBook came with a few programs I want...such as Sound Studio. Can I use the iBooks software restore disks to get those programs?

Sorry if my ?'s are stupid...I am a fairly recent switcher and am still learning.

1) With your PB turned on and your iBook off, plug a firewire cable between the two and turn the iBook on while holding down "T". The iBook should mount on the PB.

2) Plug the PB into the PC using an ethernet cable and then assign the PC an IP address in the local range (192.168.0.x should work fine if you keep x less than or equal to 255). It's been ages since I've done that on a PC but it should be buried somewhere counter-intuitive in Control Panels/Network. Once you've done that press Apple+K from the Finder on the PB and type that IP in. You should then have the PC mounted on your Desktop.

3) No idea. Someone else should be able to help, though.
