Hey everyone,
I have a new 15" 1.25 and have noticed lately that after using it for about an hour on battery power, it will simply shuts itself off without any warning. The battery still has plenty power left and if I remove it for a second and reinstall it, then it boots right up fine, like nothing ever happened. I have all the current updates including the battery upgrade and running 10.3.2.
Anyone else noticing this happening or have any ideas?
Thanx!

Might be a stupid idea, how about re-sit the battery?

Sounds like intermittent contact between battery and PowerBook. See if the battery fits securely or is wobbly. Could be you need a replacement battery or the PowerBook corrected.

Sounds like PMU or a bad battery, or you might not have properly "conditioned" the battery on its first charge.
To reset the PMU (power management unit):

Good luck!

This happened to mine as well, and this problem is not too rare. If you look on the Apple Discussion boards, many people experience similar problems. What I did, which seemed to help, was run a full extended hardware test that took about 40 minutes. I also switched to Automatic power management, as I heard that custom settings can cause this as well.
For some reason, it has not happened since. Good luck!
