I have a Pismo 500 that has just started a frustrating problem. I will not sleep. If I put it to sleep, it just turns off. This is a new problem as of today

A theroy I have is that the internal motherboard battery is dead- if main battery dies, it looses date and time.

Any thoughts aside from replacing the MB battery (these cost than I want to spend on myself at christmas)?

UPDATE:

This does not seem to happen if it is plugged in to the wall- I can sleep it and wake it at will.

Any help appreciated.

my Pismo has the pram battery 'dead' or is more correct to name it as mb battery :-/ well, as you says, if the left battery module is not inserted and is not plugged, it looses date and time, but I have it (well, my little brother now, I get an Al 17") always plugged into the wall, so it is not a issue for him really, but are so expensive those little batteries?

Merry Xmas.

The sites I found ran $50-$60. I'll get one evnetually- but now is not the season to spend on myself.

If anyone knows of a less expensive source, I'd love to hear about it.

I am having the same issue on my pismo 400. And was wondering if it was a PRAM battery issue. Or if it was a weird Panther issue.

I'll try the pram thingy.
