I finally got my NEW 12" Powerbook. I got it with the Combo Drive since I have a SuperDrive on my Desktop. After 3 Days I must say this is an AWESOME little machine. I was afraid it would have been too small but after working on it I'm not really noticing the screen size. It's also VERY portable as well. It doesn't take up a whole table when you open it up at a resturant or someplace. It's been almost 6 months since I've sold my iBook to my brother and didn't have one til now. Talk about Withdrawal. My iBook had been like an extension of my body. Now this new machine is already after 3 days.
Just so excited I just had to tell everyone and this was the first time I've taken a break from playing with it to actually visit the forums on it.

Hey good luck with the 12" ! I just played with one yesterday at the Apple Store in Edison, NJ and it was really awesome.
I definitely would have picked the 12" if I did not need the extra monitor space.
Enjoy!

So glad you're enjoying it! I have had my 12-inch for nearly a year now, hard as that is for me to believe, and still really, really like it. There's part of me that would like the extra size of a 15-inch screen, but really, for what I need it for, this is perfect.
So -- did it come with Panther, or are you busy installing? That's one of my chores for the week to come.

A friend of mine replaced his 15" TiBook with a 12" AlBook and loves the 12", more so than the 15. Another friend of mine just got his girlfriend a 12" AlBook for her birthday and I really liked it. So much I went out and got a 15" for myself a couple of days later. :-P I really need the extra screen real estate for video and photo editing while on the road.. otherwise I would have gone 12", too. It's so compact and just feels perfect when you use it.

That's great, Typhoon!
According to FedEx my first PB (12" 1 Ghz 80GB HDD 256MB RAM) is on the truck for delivery in a few hours.
Spent over an hour in the SoHo Apple Zoo (I mean store ) on Saturday just fiddling. Boy those G5s are nice. Next assignment is to get my 13-yr-old "switched".
Enjoy,
JT

You aren't kidding. I would have wanted the 15 too but Money and needs came first. I'm usually at a customer's site or out somewhere and pulling out a 15" is a little unwieldy. Maybe when I'm making the big bucks I can get the 15".
Yup Came with Panther installed. Only 10.3 so I had to do a few updates but no biggie. I also didn't re-install like I usually do since I figued I'd just prune the system right from the start. I just removed things I didn't need or want to use. It comes with the Office X Demo. Removed that and installed my version Just word and Excel, Also removed IE. It's running great except for the fact I need more RAM. Going to order that today I think.
