Subject says it all - I'm refusing to go to 10.3.2 as I don't want my fan on all the time and I don't want to apply any hacks. Do you think Apple will do anything? Anyone else holding off from upgrading? I did the battery update but I'm glad I held off doing 10.3.2 as well.

Is that a problem with the 867 12" only? I have 10.3.2 on my 1GHz 12" and the fan is behaving the same as ever...

Sorry I should have said it was 867mhz Macs only. It is famous for getting damn hot but only if you really hammer it, which I rarely do. I'd rather have a quieter machine that doesn't waste battery power on a fan I don't want on...

Well, I wish I had read these posts BEFORE upgrading to 10.3.2. After I got used to the heat, now I have to get used to the noise as well? I am not a programmer, but I would think that Apple (or someone else) could easily make a little patch with ADJUSTABLE set temperature where the fan kicks in. That would make everyone happy.

There is a hack available through versiontracker or macupdate but I don't want the hassle. My Mac runs just fine with 10.3.1 so I think I'll just stay with it. I might try 10.3.2 on my desktop G4 though out of curiosity.
