My iPhone is locked (I assume they mean the PIN on boot?) so I can't access my phone via itunes till its unlocked. Due to a broken screen I can't enter my PIN.
I need to restore it before returning it to Apple. Annoying!

Put your SIM in another phone and remove the SIM lock.

You mentioned a PIN on boot ... I'm assuming you mean a SIM PIN when you try to unlock it to use it.

And yes, the iPhone does in fact have a SIM card:

sorry. I meant there is no sim card in the iPhone, and yet iTunes is saying my iPhone is locked.
My Sim Card does not have a Pin number setup. The iPhone has the "lock keypad option"

He means his iPhone has been locked via the Settings, General, Passcode Lock and he can't enter the code because of the damaged screen.

I think the OP is SOL.

If this doesn't raise a red flag on unlocking/jail breaking, I don't know what does.

I'm glad the OP was able to reset/restore it but it seems to me that there was a very real possibility that he might not have.

To each his own, but those folks who wish to unlock/jail break should know the risks.
