I want to get people's translations of these emoji. We'll get to the ones which are actually in Japanese later. I want to start out with some of the more subtle questions.
Like, what exactly is supposed to be the difference in concepts expressed by , , , and .
You don't have to actually know the answer AFAIC. Goofy answers are not only expected but desired.
(if you only get squares, you need to be viewing this thread on an iDevice)

This is one of the more nuanced emoji, because it can mean either "that's no eggplant" or "I'm peeing on you".

first, I'm looking at this on an iPad, and the pictures come through fine. (I didn't pour through later posts to see if something got changed...)
Anyway, these four mean: happy/playful, happy/proud/content, "I am happy to see you, and that is not a gun in my pocket," and "inscrutable". (in other words, I have no idea what the last one is supposed to mean.)

That may have been texted to a bikini-clad Flo from the Progressive commercials by an alien robot octopus at one point, however some could consider that to be too much information.

I checked in on this thread yesterday on my iMac, and the emoji were all "invalid character" symbols, while they show up perfectly he on my iPad... That makes me feel and . Which shouldn't be at all difficult to translate.

Of course, also means "goddamn Robert Goulet!", if you're using the archaic style.
Japanese is so complicated.

FWIW, Emoji rarely work for me, on either Firefox or Safari. For instance, the only post in this thread that Firefox successfully displays anything in is subego's "Okay, the new top up is cool" post. And those are tiny and illegible. All the other posts get the character placeholders Firefox drops in when it doesn't understand text.

Yeah, but I don't expect Firefox to ever work properly with system resources. (One of the reasons I don't use it.)
This is on Safari. Anybody have an explanation?
