This is the BBC news PDA version - BBC News Online | World

If you look at it on your iPhone, it is terrible. The text is small and stretches very far to the edge of the viewport.

All BBC has to do is add one line of code in their header tag: <meta name="viewport" content="width=320">

That's it! Nothing more!

So I copied the source of the BBC site and added that one line of code
Visit my edition BBC News Online | World all I did was add:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=320"> in the Head tag.

Here's a before and after for those of you without an iPhone.

Normal BBC site

My hacked version with the one line of code added

Please send feedback to the BBC asking them to insert the meta viewport tag into their PDA site!

Sort of related is that BBC's wonderful iPlayer is optimised for the iPhone and it looks fantastic.

I don't have an iPhone or touch, but there are 3 versions of the BBC site - The full site, the PDA
site and the Mobile site. Not sure if the code has changed or if you are going to the different versions in the screenshots.
