I've noticed (or think that) since owning my iPhone after some restores (the more recent ones) the notes and e.g. things like wireless passwords are restored as well after re-syncing. This leads to believe that notes are sync to the computer in some hidden (to me) file. Has anyone had success finding or retrieving this information.

My understanding is that Notes are backed-up onto your Mac, but there is no way of accessing them via an application. These seems a bit bizarre to me, but is supported by your experience.

Some people are suggesting that one workaround is to create a contact called '1 Notes' which will appear first in your alphabeticalised list and you can add the notes field to this fake contact. A bit of a bodge, but there we have it. Hopefully this will be sorted with firmware 2.0.

I thought that was what I was seeing. I noticed the iPod Game database(?) file was updated with a back-up over the weekend. No games on the iPhone (pre 2.0 yet ;-) and the format wasn't straight text.

Interesting idea. I might try that. Doing it in email approach doesn't lend itself to updating information.

Agreed.
