The Navigon app is already out and will work on a 3G.

Navigon has a better reputation of late than TomTom, specifically for having more accurate and up-to-date maps.

I heard on NPR that TomTom just licensed Homer Simpson's voice. That might be hard to beat.

Is it Navagon that is charging $9.99 per month to use it?

EDIT: Oh sorry, that is Gokivo I was thinking of.

By the looks of it that's a Europe only app. Looks great though.

Anybody know if the Tom Tom app speaks the street names? (turn left on Main street in 100 yards?)
Who is John Galt?

Wow, NavigoGon is $100 bucks. Not a good sign for the TomTom app. I was hoping it would be $50 or less.

That page only says "turn-by-turn car navigation". That doesn't necessarily mean it speaks the street names.

Oh. Sorry. I take it all back and apologize. I don't know that is the answer.

I think the delay is connected to the hardware. I read a piece on a German Mac site about it.
