This problem started when I had too many song files on iTunes for my iPod to handle. When I docked my iPod for its auto update, I-Tunes prompted me w/ a request to make a single playlist called my name iPod favorites. I agreed, and in doing so none of my playlists showed up on my iPod.
Now my iPod won't update at all because iTunes doesn't have this file. How can I remedy this?

I think you need to go into the iPod preferences in iTunes, check 'Automatically update selected play lists only', and check off the play lists you want on your computer. That should work, unless I'm misunderstanding the problem.
