I just installed i-tunes on my computer with the 3rd I-pod in the house. It is under a different log in and user. The playlist on the i-pod is grayed out and on the bottom near the space available is a little lock, never have seen this with previous i-pods.

That's how mine is, too. It means you have it set to auto-fill from your library. Therefore, you can't access it's files manually from iTunes because they just mirror your Library anyhow.

For the record, it's iTunes and iPod.
