hello all...
i'm an ipod newbie and was so excited that i didn't bother to read the "getting started" booklet and ended up finding out the hard way that syncing w/ a mac and a pc is an either or deal... sooo... long story short, i had to restore the ipod software and resync w/ my powerbook at home... i have itunes set to auto update all the songs/playlist in order to upload all songs, but after it syncs about 10 songs or so, i get the above error message and i have to disconnect/reconnect the ipod to resume.. has anyone else come across this error?

Are you connecting via Firewire or USB? If USB, 2.0 or 1? Did you try the iPod software updater to reformat the iPod?

i'm connecting using the usb 2.0 that came w/ it, but using it thru the dock in the jbl on stage speakers...
i also used the three updates...

now that you had mentioned the connection, i'm trying to sync it w/ just the stock usb cable (sans the jbl dock) and it already seems to be working!

i'll keep ya posted if it copies all of the music...
