I have them. They're quite good for what they are, but certainly not comparable to full-size systems. They're nice and small and good in a pinch in hotel rooms, etc. I have Version 2, which is reported to be better than Version 1, which has a tendency to distort at higher volumes. I'm not sure which they sell at Wal-Mart. $8 is certainly cheap as it's a $40 MSRP. I picked up mine for $30 shipped from eBay.
