I have a 40gig iPod photo for about 6 months now and every so often it stops playing mid track. It isn't on ay specific track or artist, it is as though it has been put in pause because you can start it playing again from the same point by clicking on the pause / play button again. Sometimes it seems to happen if I touch the headphone socket but I cannot normally repeat it if I try. I have reset the pod a couple of times and reloaded all my music but to no avail. I could try sending it back but it may not be easy to convince Apple that there is a problem if you can't demonstrate it on demand.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

i get this too - 3G 15GB. I play mine 10 hours a day for work and it's in the Florida sun all day, so I don't blame it for taking a break. I get random shutoffs once in while. It'll never just pause. It'll shut off randomly (maybe once every 2 days), but hitting play gets it going from where it left off most of the time.
