Can someone tell me how to store information other than music on an ipod? Particularly if i wanted to double it's use as an external harddrive as well as music player?

Thanks.

-Connect your iPod to your PC (or MAC)
-Open iTunes
-Go EDIT>PREFERENCES
-Select the "iPod" tab
-At the bottom is the "Enable Disk Use" Option.

If you check the "Enable Disk Use" option, you should be able to use the iPod like a thumb drive. It should appear in My Computer as a Removable Disk.

Please note that it is a bad idea to use it as a boot drive since it can't cool itself.

He never said he was going to use it as a boot drive, but I was going to mention this in case he had thoughts about it so thanks.

The iPod's drive takes enough time to spin up 20 minutes of music for buffering and then spins down. It wasn't meant to boot from, and this would greatly increase the wear and tear on your iPod.

Boot drive and external drive are two different things.

Though if you have DiskWarrior, I'd recommend running it on the iPod now and then if you do use it as an external.
