Hi folks! i already posted several times here regarding my ipod who has been thrown into the water and didnt function anymore.I sent it to the technician and he said, my HD still works, i just need to have the software for it to be formatted. So, i gave him the software and my old files were still there, but the ipod still didnt charge nor function.. He told me then that my ipod's processor has been damage, so i need to buy another one. Please help me where i could file it coz its really hard looking for that certain chip and i am not also certain with the technician if he was right. Please help me, i really value my ipod(huuh

Regardless of what the technician is telling you, if the iPod got wet and doesn't work, it's junk.

With labor costs, there's no way that replacing an iPod component would be cheaper than just getting a new one.

hi! tnx for reply. he is not an apple technician. he is a cellular phone tchnician that is why i am not certain of wat he is saying, I tried looking for an ipod technician here but i cant find no one else.. He was able to capture my old datas in my ipod and he said, my hardsk is still working ... but the problem is a small chip/processor that is why it doesnt turn on. I am not really certain of his outcomes, i just want to know the exact reason why my ipod doesnt turn on or charge when in fact i have seen my old files in it..

tnx!

Well, is it possible to use the internal hard drive as a new external HD for your computer? Might as well try to use it for something. As for the rest of the iPod, see ya!

You need to let Apple take a look at it.

You'll never be able to remove the old processor and solder a new one one. It's all done by machine in the factory. Hopefully you can get the circuit board replaced.
