With a 4GB flash drive comes the possibility of booting from it. I would OS X would run really fast. Does anyone have any idea what disk format these will come in? The Shuffles were formated in some sort of PC disc format that had an 8 character file limit.

Since I just ordered an 4GB Flash iPod what implications does this have for booting off of it? How about portable Home directory?

I bet there will be a bunch of new applications for doing this, since it would seem better than booting off a normal iPod (faster, and less hard disk strain)

Also as far as copying photos to my ipod nano is it easy to get them off? It appears that the AV cables that come with iPod color won't work with the Nano correct? Meaning I won't be able to show off my photos on the big screen. Do the color iPods store the photos in an easy to access location? So I can take them from home to work, and share them with other computers?

Does it work directly through iTunes?

I'd really love to discuss with other people the new possibilities that a 4GB flash drive brings us!!!

Actually I just realized that Flash Memory is generally slower than a hard drive. However you probably could still boot off this thing. I guess I'll try out some ideas when mine arrives.
