Alright, so my iPod click wheel has not been working for over a month. It has that annoying folder exclamation mark and I practically tried EVERYTHING to fix it but with no luck. Finally, I decided to go for the Service Request from Apple yesterday.

Oddly enough, while I was playing Warcraft 3, I subconsciously pressed the click wheel and it magically worked. No folder mark that has plagued me in the past appeared. It was extremely weird.

So now it is happily recharging and currently works but I want to cancel that iPod Service Request that I paid $30 for. Is it possible? Have they already charged my CC?

For now, I will try and use my iPod. If the problem comes up again, I'll just send it in but I don't want to waste my money on something that is fixed for the time being.

I don’t believe Apple will fix YOUR iPod. In my experience they just send you a new one, or a Refurbished one. If I where you I would send it in, for $30 you get a brand new iPod, and piece of mind. I know people who have done things to their iPods (dropped it, stepped on it, you name it) and they phone Apple say it doesn’t turn on or do anything. Apple sends them a box; you put the iPod in, and send it away. Couple days a new iPod will arrive at your doorstep. They have a really fast turn around just awesome service! no questions asked. Send it in! Best $30 dollars you will ever spend! So what if started working again, tell apple it’s inconsistent, and they will take your word on it and replace it. In my experience the turn around is so fast, I don’t think they even look at them closely. I have sent an iPod away and got a new one 2 days later. My problem was bad battery life, I really don’t think a engineer charged up my iPod, and then checked if it met the replacement requirements. They took my word on it and sent me a new one! They won’t play with your click wheel until it stops working!
