At home, my itunes library is on a networked drive in my server machine. I simply mount that server onto my powerbook and have a symlink of the itunes library on the powerbook. I can plug my shuffle or 2gen ipod into the powerbook and sync them no problem.

However, while away for a few weeks, I knew I wouldn't be able to do that, and didn't mind. But when I plugged my shuffle into the powerbook to charge it, the entire contents of the shuffle was wiped.

Anyone any idea why this happened?
