When I phoned the Apple Store to order my Nano today, I was told to get the Apple Care Protection Plan. The reason: the battery in the Nano will last me only 1 year, and it would cost me $150 to have the battery replaced after warranty.

What's your experience been with your existing iPods? Is it worth the extra $70 to get the Plan?

Thanks.

There will be aftermarket batteries for about $40 in one year, with twice the life of the original battery. They are soldered in, so be prepared to deal with that if you change your own.
