Hi folks..new user here.. Just got a 2gig nano..

When i got it a couple days ago , i let the battery charge until it was full...it only took like 30 mins, which was kinda wierd.. anyway.. Im only getting like 6 hours of battery life .., this is with me locking it and let it play in continious mode.. all my songs are 128 bit.. so that aint the issue..

Should i call apple?.. im getting no where near the 14 hours advertised..

did you discharge the battery first? fast-charge takes about 90 mins.; full charging takes up to 3 hours. read your manual.

get a Mac.

I don't know.

Seriously: Discharge the battery, then charge it for the 3 hours as you should have read in the manual.

Simple: Run down the battery until it is flat and then fully recharge it.

Edit: Hey... maybe you can answer my question. How much free space is there on an empty nano? (How much space is taken by the nano before music is added?)

Yeah, because you know you need 14 hours of music running the thing constantly right?

What does your cell phone get by the way? Return it...

No, but it's a pain having to recharge it constantly.

9 hours when Apple says 14 is not acceptible. Return it.

I've noticed on mine that the battery life is nowhere near 14 hours either. I haven't actually timed my use (i avoid commitment whenever possible) but i'm guessing I get about 6-7 hours of actual use before it dies and needs recharged.

I've only drained it twice now so i'll see what it does after a few charge/discharge cycles.
