Hi, I hope this isn't a stupid post. I want to buy an iPod soon and I was wondering if now is a good time to buy or if there are any rumored updates about new ipods coming out (perhaps before the holidays?). I really want a 60gig cuz I have a lot of music, but they are too thick. Anyone think they will get any thinner in the near future? Thanks.

You can spend your whole life speculating on the next upgrade cycle and never getting what you want. Sometimes it's best to just bite the bullet, say "I want that", and get it with no regret. That being said, we may well see an upgrade to the current line up. On the other hand, we may not.

Yes, I know this is very little help, but even the most reasoned speculation often turns out to be wrong when it comes to Apple releases.
