Hi, can anyone please tell me if there is a difference between the first 30 gig ipod photo that was released and the newer ipod + Hp 30 gig? I am really confused about this and can't understand what could be any different. I think the dimensions are exactly the same, is this true? Thanks.

Just curious, did you find a really good deal on HP iPods somewhere?





*Just to clarify, by stripes I mean branding. No zebra pattern or the like...

I didn't find a particularily good deal, no. I am just in the market right now and trying to figure out what the whole Hp deal is, and why someone would care. But if I find a good deal, I will definately post it (Title: Good Deal on HP ipod!) so you can check it ouy. Thanks!

One difference that you may find important--I was at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store with a small issue with my own iPod, and the guy behind me also had an iPod to be looked at. The Genius told the guy, who had an HP model, that he couldn't make the repair/replacement that was necessary, that it needed to go to HP. He did find the 800 number for the guy, and sealed the case of his iPod where it had started to open, but apparently could do no more.

I was unaware of the HP model up until that moment, and I am not sure if what I observed would be true in any Apple Store, but I just thought I'd share my experience.
