I've currently got a Palm Tungsten T with a 256MD SD card. I use the Palm mainly as an address book, calendar and listening to music.

The Tungsten has served me well over the years, but over the last 6 months it's taken a beating and is slowing falling to pieces (the on/off switch no longer works, and the case is cracking with pieces falling off).

Despite the wide range of software available for the Palm, I've only ever really used the basic functions I've stated above, and over recent months I've started to listen to more music and audiobooks on it. I'm therefore in two minds as to whether replace the Palm with a new Palm PDA/PocketPC, or opt for an iPod.

What are the calendar, address book and to-do lists like on an iPod? Are they sufficient to work as a basic PDA replacement? Does the iPod just act as a viewer, or are you allowed to add entries?

Also which iPod would you recommend for the purposes - a normal iPod or a nano?

For info, I have an iBook, and full .Mac membership.

Your thoughts please.

Thanks

You can't add entries on the iPod, only sync the info from your computer.

I would get the lowest end Palm (one for $99 is coming) and the nano.
"Curse my metal body, I wasn't fast enough!"
