Steve said no-no-no-no and no......

Of course, he poo-poo'ed the idea of an iPod with flash. Next thing you know, the shuffle comes out....

With that being said, perhaps the iPod will stay as a music player first and foremost and perhaps a spin-off product that will have video.

I would still like to keep my iPod small and adding video requires a bigger screen than what the full-sized iPod has.

Steve will probably come up with the VideoPod which is not as portable as the music-only iPod.

Sheez, my friend carries a SonyPSP because he is willing to sacrifice the size to have the ability to play videos, music, and games.

Meanwhile, I'm skipping alongside with my nano. It's the nano that turns heads, not my friend's PSP.

Well my ipod nano has video icons in the firmware... so obviously somebody at Apple thinks otherwise.

Apple embeds icons into their products to their applications quite often to prepare for the future. It is definitely there but it may not mean they will use it.

I believe there is a .wma icon in there as well. But it's not supported in the iPod. Only .wma to AAC/mp3 conversion is supported in iTunes for Windows.

I'd like to see a spin-off product for video while keeping the original iPod line intact as a music player.

Watching videos on the nano or iPod is OK if it is probably a 30 second to 1 minute video podcast. But not something that anyone wants to use while watching the extended Lord of the Rings.

I'd have a headache and eye fatigue trying to watch Lord of the Rings on my cellphone screen. Not pleasant...

No, you can get videos onto your ipod... http://ipodlinux.org/Video_Player it's not the easiest thing to do or the most practical, but if you can download the video and iPod Linux then you can get it onto your iPod... not sure if there's sound though... you'd have to read about it... ( http://ipodlinux.org/Video_Player ).
