Hi there,

I've been having a bit of trouble transferring photos from an ipod back onto my ibook g4. See, I've lost the photos that were originally on my hard drive and the full resolution photos are on my ipod photo (4th gen). They're stored as proprietary package files (I'm not at home just now and cannot say for sure what they are - is it ipkg files or something?) so I don't know how to get them back other than just plainly view them on my ipods screen.

Does anyone have any ideas, or has gone through the same situation and has managed to get their photos back?

I would suggest getting trying Anapod Explorer, just search google for it. IT kind of lets you get past all the mumbo jumbo that Apple impliments with iTunes. If that doesn't fix your problem let me know.

If you actually have the full resolution pictures on your iPod, they will be in a folder called "Full Resolution" in your "Photos" folder. They are just stored as JPEGs.

Well I don't think I backed up the full resolution photos. Well, that's our arctic holiday photos gone! 'Cept the thumbnails! HEH.

Ah well, thanks for your help. And gratisguy - My ipod was formatted for Mac so it wouldn't work under windows -- I'd have to reformat it and all that.
