My 60GB iPod Photo does not get used every day. When it's not in use, it sits in a nice padded case with the earbuds removed and the Hold switch in the hold position. Often, when I start using it again, it goes through its startup process-the Apple logo shows up for a few moments and eventually the menu shows up.

Why is my iPod rebooting, and does this indicate a problem?

No. This is nominal behavior. After X number of hours, your iPod will reboot upon power up. I'm only going from memory here, but I believe it's a battery saving measure... After X hours, the device goes into a deeper-than-off type of sleep. Awaking from this deep sleep requires the reboot. And yeah, it's kind of annoying.

Somebody with more specific details can probably explain it better and include the magic number as to just when this happens.
