You know in the library of both your Harddrive and your iPod, each song has a checkbox next to it. What the hell is that about?
Also, is there anyway to make the iPod stay synced with songs it has? That is, say i have Nickelback-Photograph on my iPod, im a picky guy, and i dont like that format. Is there an easier way then editing both my HD & my iPod to make both reflect the ID3 Tags of the renamed Nickelback-Photograph to "Nickelback - Photograph"? Because atm, i am going through the process of editing a ton of names to make them look good on the ipod, and i was basically forced to just clear my whole ipod to make it so i dont edit them twice. Normally that wouldent be bad, but i like to specifically choose each song that goes on it because my main listening function is of the shuffle mannor ( for work, i just let it run ).
Thanks to any help!

You can uncheck songs if you don't want them to play. They will be skipped over when you are playing normally, and won't play when you're doing random play. You can also set your iPod to not include unchecked songs.
I don't understand your second question, but I get the feeling that you may be misunderstanding something...

In my opinion, with smart nested playlists, the checkboxes are really no longer necessary. Personally, since the introduction of iTunes 1, I've never used them.

I use a smart playlist to deselect all of my Christmas songs when they aren't in season.
