The 5th gen were the ipods that all got color screens, were a little slimmer, and dropped Photo name, and the video iPods are the 6th gen, right?

Thanks

nope. every click wheel iPod was 4G. Video is 5G.

edit: I should say, every click wheel full-size iPod before now was 4G. video is now 5G, and the mini had its own couple of generations.

No, the Photo/color iPods were still called 4th generation. The 5th generation iPod can play video.

I understand that this is the accepted way of listing the generations, but doesn't it make more sense that the iPod photo is the 5th Generation - I'd say that it's the biggest jump in terms of features that the iPod has ever had, including the new ones.
