I'm planning on going on a trip next year, and I'm hoping to take photos from my digital camera and import them into the iPod with the camera connector.

Questions:

1. If I start running out of space on the iPod, can I delete certain videos/music without a computer? (I don't want to bring my laptop on the trip)0

2. Can the camera connector/iPod feed a USB reader power, so you can import photos without the original camera (and just the media card)?

3. Will the iPod battery eat up really fast when importing photos? How long would it take the import a 1GB memory card into the iPod?

any help would be great! THANKS

1. No.
2. Probably not.
3. From what I hear, yes it uses the battery up quickly. I don't know about actual times, but I've heard people say it takes a long time to copy pictures over.

1) No.

2) Don't think so.

3) Yes, it will eat up some battery time with that big of a card.

how long would it take to import 1gb?

will the iPod last that long before it dies? or will it die first?

so, you're unable to use a card reader to import photos into the iPod?

The card reader would have to be powered by itself. I'd say at least 20 minutes for the card to load, minimum.
Though you could do it when it's charging.

You can use the camera connector while it's charging? I though it used the dock connector.

OK, not when it's actually charging, but when you're about to charge either/both.

Apparently you can use a card reader, according to the Macintouch review of the new iPod. A USB2 reader is apparently uite fast.
