What do you think? I haven't played Myst since the first one but it utilized a simple interface. They would have to simplify movement and 'hot link' on screen items so they could be accessed with the scroll pad. The new pod's video processor is capable of dissolve effects and GUI overlays. The mapping and inventory systems shouldn't be a problem as I've seen a Linux version of Doom that was 'playable' on the iPod.

Of course they would be more like mini games but they could be sold for $1.99 at the iTunes store. To utilize the engine the games could be released on a serial basis.

A possibility, but Apple hasn't shown a lot of interest in developing games for the iPod, and I think they might be worried about releasing something like you describe, for fear of diluting the iPod's identity as a music player. After all, I doubt that the iPod will ever come close to beating the dedicated game machines, and it takes a lot of money to develop games. Personally, I'm content with leaving gaming to my game machines.

The reason I brought up Myst is that it appealed to many non-gamers. I don't think it dilutes things anymore than having Solitare or Breakout built-in. Like video it would simply be along for the ride.
