Hello.

This is my first post and i've decided to register, but i've been reading you since few weeks ago. I think this is a gr8 forum.
I'm from spain.

Here's my question:

My uncle was in New York yesterday and I asked him to buy a 30 or 60GB black 5G iPod for me. He sent me an sms telling me that he saw many shops: including the official Apple Store and they told him video iPods have been taken out from market because firsts units had some factory defaults. They'll be replaced in 15 days.

My suspect comes because my birthday is next friday and that excuse doesn't seem logical coz many ppl buying iPods. Maybe he want to give me a surprise...

I want people from USA (or better if NYC) tell me if the new video iPods are on sale in Apple Stores or is it true what my uncle told me?

It would be cool if somebody can help me coz i can't wait carrying an iPod in my hands

Thanks so much.

Bought one yesterday at the SOHO store in NYC at 5:30pm

They had plenty, and there were a crapload of people on line
buying them.

didn't hear anything about defects in the 5G iPod video.

hope you have an awesome birthday when your uncle returns home with something shiny and new for you.

I'm jealous. My birthday already passed. I settled for a nano for my birthday.... Oh well, we'll have plenty more birthdays to celebrate.

I just bought a black 2 Gb nano yesterday at one of those little camera/electronic stores on Lexington around 50th street. I think the only ones they didn't have were the white 2 Gb.
Macbook 1.83 Ghz CD, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, OS 10.6.2

Ok, thanks a lot for the replies! I'm glad to hear no problems on G5 iPods and there's still stock left in physical shops.
