We finally got iTMS, seems it was Sony causing problems with the store for a year. Anyways, its great EXCEPT, some of the artists have really crazy labelling, making it hard to find them..

For example, Krautrock (German 60's and 70's heavy progressive rock) band "Faust" have been placed under Classical... for those who arnt familiar with Faust, its akin to placing Metallica or Cradle of Filth under classical...

Another, Brian Eno and Robert Fripp, ambient masters have some of their stuff filed under "Dance". There must be some really clueless people putting the genre on this music..

Not to mention many of the release dates for classic albums from the 60's and 70's have release dates of 2003, 2004 etc.. I dont care when they AAC'd them, I want to know the original release date so I can see the album in the context of when they were released, and also find similar material to albums I own and like.

It's the same with old pop music too. Ike & Tina Turner didn't release their music in 1997... but that has been a problem on the US iTunes store too. I think they possibly go by the release date of the CD? I know Amazon dates Carol King's Tapestry as being released May 25th 1999, when it actually came out on LP in 1971.

You would think the record companies could get the dates right.. Even pirated MP3's get the dates right. It really goes to show how much they actually care about the product they sell.
