We just got iTunes here in Australia.. yay.. however there is a problem on the large box set pricing... I thought about the complete U2 box set, but then discovered it is $299 here in Australia... in the US its $149, which converts to $198 Australian... so why an extra hundred dollars!!

Get stuffed Australian music execs. Do you really want a future of people paying for music? Its this kind of overcharging which drives people to other methods.

Are there different licensing laws in Australia? And isn't there some sort of "we expect everybody to pirate everything so we're going to tax the crap out of all entertainment media" law as well? Betcha that has something to do with it.

Each countries prices are based on the negotiated rate with the music companies.

Funny thing is, all Australias pricing was negotiated in the US... the Australian offices had little to do with it...

What the hell do the US have to do with U2?

I really doubt a US company has distro rights over U2's stuff in AUS.
