Hi all, hoping someone can help.

I have an existing 3G iPod with a large music collection. I have a new laptop (not a mac ) that I want to copy the existing iPod library to via iTunes. When I connect, it asks me if I want to overwrite the iPod with my laptop music library (which there are no songs, so of course I do not want to do that), but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the songs from the iPod to iTunes.

Moderators, wouldn't it make sense to have an FAQ thread? This question seems to come up several times a week.

wowway1, the best way is probably to copy your library from your old computer to the new one, but if you must use your iPod, you have to use a third-party program to do it. Apple doesn't let you just copy music off the iPod since it would make it too easy for people to share music.
