I just bought the 5th gen iPod (black). It plays fine but lately I have noticed that navigating through menus while playing songs gets quite sluggish. I erased the iPod and installed the latest software and it runs perfectly so I thought it was bad software or corrupt videos. Everything was fine until I decided to add back in all the clocks that I had set up before I erased everything. After I set up 5 clocks from different countries I decided to play a song, I began navigating through menus and it was painfully obvious that the iPod continuously accessed the hard drive each time I navigated through the menus and it got sluggish.
I figured it had something to do with so many clocks being active so I deleted all but two clocks and played a song again and the menu navigation was smooth again. This behavior seems weird. Looks to be that the iPod won't run too smoothly with multiple clocks running, more like 4 or more. Can anyone try this and let me know if they are experiencing this? I wanted to check with anyone before I packed it up and took it back to my local Apple store.

Used space is 11GB

I am experiencing the same thing. Hadn't noticed any relation to clocks on mine though. When selecting songs it lags, when skipping to the next song it lags and when the next song has started playing about 2 mins pass until the info on the new one is shown. Odd.

Yes, that's the behavior I experience but only when I install multiple clocks. Looks like it requires the iPod to constantly access the HD to keep the clocks in sync. I noticed that this sluggish behavior doesn't happen on the Nano's probably because they are flash based.

It bugs me how Steve Jobs advertised the multiple clocks feature on the new 5th Gen iPod and then I go to use this feature and it slows down the iPod.
